Those who listen to the dreamy music of Brazilian keyboardist Serafim de Leon for the first time will be surprised to learn that he was an aspiring Heavy Metal guitarist in his teens. In fact, back then he was solely interested in Heavy Rock in its purest forms and spent his entire adolescence playing nothing but raw riffs by the likes of Metallica, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden, his favorites at the time. 

However, his artistic visions took a turn a few years later when he had the first contact with other types of music, such as New Age as well as beautiful Orchestral music, which blew his mind away and showed him a world of new musical possibilities, widening his range of influences. 

But if that discovery did him good on the one hand, it also did him harm on the other hand, since it made Serafim seriously reconsider his musical ideology, falling deeply into an identity crisis that lasted for many, many years on end, leading him on a journey in search for self knowledge and inner growth, which he acquired through reading and therapy. 

Now, after years and years of soul searching and away from music, Serafim de Leon is convinced that all those empty years were not in vain, but instead made him realize music as his great gift and mission in life, so much so that he is finally studying Music in college, a huge and old dream of his. 

Moreover, amazing artists such as Enya, Jo Blankenburg, Kitaro, Marc Enfroy and BrunuhVille - among many others - have become his new favorites and great influences that are directly reflected in his art, and he showcases an incontestable talent and artistic sensitivity only found in those truly blessed with the gift of music. 

Serafim de Leon´s first album, "Songs From Above The Clouds", is a collection of well-known themes of both classical and popular music, featuring masterpieces by Enya, Beethoven, Sonata Arctica, Pachelbel and Celine Dion, among others, performed with stunning synthesizers that give a new outline to pieces like "Ode To Joy", "Only Time", "Draw Me", "My Heart Will Go On" and other pearls that were interpreted to sound like gorgeous New Age music, taking the listeners on a fantastic journey across lovely melodies that will actually make them feel as if in heaven... 

In times when low-quality and frivolous music is released with the only intent to go viral and get momentary and fleeting attention, not to mention the massive use of AI by people with little to no genuine talent for music, Serafim de Leon emerges in full force and wishes to leave his mark in the souls of all those who know to recognize honest music made with the heart, tunes that will long last in their lives as something artistically valuable and noteworthy. Music for the sake of music, simply put. 

As an independent musician, Serafim believes in creative freedom - without which true art would not be possible - as the foundation to fully express himself, both as an artist and as a human being. And, to materialize his conviction, he is currently found polishing some of his best original songs that will be part of his next album, to be released at an appropriate date. 

As a born composer with a high level of musical sensitiveness, Serafim is ready to take on the world with his beautiful music that, surely enough, will delight all those who truly appreciate the dreamiest side of New Age music.
